The fact that it\’s easy to find a cigar at one of the many gas stations nowadays caused one of our friends to say that the prestige of smoking a cigar has gone away. It meant much more, he said, backing the old days when you had to make more effort to find a cigar.

Well, this just flat out made Johnny madder than the mad hatter. Johnny takes his image quite seriously and took great offense at the thought that his status symbol might not be seen in the correct light.
Johnny said that he was cooler than any other guy out there for smoking his top dollar Montecristo. He started screaming that the only reason other guys could find cigars more easily these days was because they were buying $3 cheapies at the corner store.

We all thought about what he said for a moment. We all tried really hard to act like we were thinking seriously about this important topic while we all were staring at the ass of that twenty-something walking by.
Well, the rest of us had to start thinking about whether our cool status as cigar smokers had been threatened in some way. After the distraction in a dress was finally out of sight, we were able to get our minds back on our cigar smoking coolness.

The discussion turned nasty as each of us started giving our take on this most important topic. The truth, though, is that Johnny, who was working on drink number three at this point, was doing his best to yell in the faces of those opposing his viewpoint.
Well, we never did come to a decision on the truth about all this. However, since we were saved from a fistfight by our lovely girlfriends…who had come to pick us up for a hot night out…shows that Johnny was quite right. We\’re all pretty damn cool smoking our cigars with these hot ladies on our arms.
